Introductions

I became a psychotherapist in 1999 after graduating from the Joint Master of Social Work. This graduate program is unique; it is a partnership between the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The JMSW program connects a Historical Black College/University (HBCU) with a non HBCU. The point of this collaboration is to train therapists within a Civil Rights framework.

After graduation I worked as an individual and family therapist in Greensboro, North Carolina. I have extensive training and experience providing therapy to children, teenagers, and adults.

I moved to Massachusetts in 2003 to finish my Ph.D at the Smith College School for Social Work. Once in Massachusetts I continued my work as a therapist for children, teenagers, and adults.

My specialty areas are:

Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy

EMDR Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Developmental Therapy
